Description
In the 1800s and early 1900s, carpenters and wood workers were in demand for the construction of counters, display cases, and furniture repair as well as new buildings. Often a carpenter was also a cabinet maker, in which case he made furniture – bedsteads, wash stands, tables, chairs, cupboards, pie racks and trim.
The wood worker with a streak of artisan in his blood would slowly and meticulously create ornate trim and character carvings. The tools were many and the work often tedious.

I am a photographer and visual artist, enjoying the freedom that comes with doing something that I love for a living. Several times a year I leave the studio behind, load the equipment and head out on the open road…camera in hand and photos in mind. Please enjoy browsing my various galleries of photography and digital art. If you happen to find something that calls to you, then I will have achieved success.

Love your composition filled with history and the tools of the trade! Wonderful light and tone!

You've composed a beautiful still life showing that at one time the tools of the trade were as lovingly made as the products they produced.
