Artist's Description

In the 1800s and early 1900s, carpenters and wood workers were in demand for the construction of counters, display cases, and furniture repair as well as new buildings. The carpenter work shop was often located next to a large lumber yard.
Often a carpenter was also a cabinet maker, in which case he made furniture ￿ bedsteads, wash stands, tables, chairs, cupboards, pie racks and trim. Central in this image is a treadle lathe￿surrounded by other tools of the trade.
The wood worker with a streak of artisan in his blood would slowly and meticulously create ornate trim and character carvings. The tools were many and the work often tedious.
This and the other works in my portfolio and galleries are suitable for home and business d￿r. Please browse my work to find the perfect piece for your needs. Many of the images are available in several size formats. The Fine Art America logo and watermark does not appear on your purchased art.
I welcome your visit...

You'll see from my various collections that although I sometimes follow the same path as many others, I most often take a road or trail less travelled. I may start the journey with one goal in mind and find myself at the end of the day having wandered far from the planned and beaten path. The art in my collections is all suitable for home and business settings and venues. It is available...
