The thistle is a much underrated "flower" - there's a reason it's the national flower of Scotland! It's really such a fascinating plant and so pretty when in bloom. F/L T P

Artist's Description

Teasels are easily identified with their prickly stem and leaves, and the purple, dark pink or lavender flowers that form a head on the end of the stem. The seeds are an important winter food resource for some birds, notably the European Goldfinch. Teasels are often grown in gardens and encouraged on some nature reserves to attract them. Teasel is also considered an invasive species in the United States. It is known to form a monoculture, capable of crowding out all native plant species. I always smile when I see a stand of teasel. As a child I couldn￿t seem to remember the right name and always called it ticky weed.

I may start the journey with one goal in mind and find myself at the end of the day having wandered far from the planned and beaten path. The art in my collections is all suitable for home and business settings and venues. It is available...
